Quick answers

How much is Umrah from the USA in 2026?
In October 2026, publicly advertised 7–10 night packages with flights from U.S. gateways ranged roughly from $2,300 to $3,800 per person in a quad room. Land-only packages ran about $1,150 to $1,700. These are rounded market ranges, not quotes.
Are Umrah prices per person or per room?
Almost always per person, based on how many people share a room. A quad price assumes four people in one room; a double price assumes two, so it costs more per person.
What is usually not included?
Often lunch and dinner, tips, Zamzam shipping or extra baggage, optional ziyarat, travel insurance beyond the visa’s basic cover, travel to your U.S. airport and personal spending. Read each quote’s exclusions.
When is Umrah cheapest from the USA?
Quieter months outside U.S. school holidays and the busiest part of Ramadan tend to cost less. In the packages we reviewed, late-December departures ran about $500 to $800 per person above Thanksgiving for the same hotels.

Short answer: in October 2026, publicly advertised 7–10 night Umrah packages with flights from U.S. gateways that we reviewed ranged roughly from $2,300 to $3,800 per person in a quad room. The low end is Thanksgiving week; the high end is the winter break. Sharing a double typically added about $400 per person. Land-only packages, where you buy your own flights, ran about $1,150 to $1,700 per person. Your own price depends on five things: season, hotel proximity, room sharing, flights and what is included.

Triples typically cost about $100 to $300 more per person than quads, and doubles about $250 to $630 more. Single rooms were rarely advertised.

Per person, per room and occupancy

Umrah packages are priced per person, assuming a set number of people share each hotel room. In the packages we reviewed, moving from a quad to a double added about $250 to $630 per person, typically around $400. A single room usually costs much more again and is rarely advertised. Our room-sharing guide explains what quad, triple and double really look like and when paying more is worth it.

Land-only or flights included

A land-only price is not directly comparable with an air-inclusive one. Add a realistic round-trip fare from your airport for your dates, plus checked-bag fees if your fare excludes them, before comparing. Land-only can work well if you have miles or a good fare; air-inclusive keeps flights, transfers and hotel dates in one booking. See land-only vs air-and-land Umrah, or browse land-only and air-inclusive packages.

How season changes the price

  • Thanksgiving and the winter break are among the most requested times for U.S. families. In the packages we reviewed, late-December departures ran about $500 to $800 per person above Thanksgiving for the same hotels.
  • Ramadan is priced in tiers. Early-Ramadan departures in February 2027 were advertised near or below winter-break prices, while the last ten nights are usually the most expensive and fill first.
  • Quieter months, outside school holidays, generally offer lower prices and calmer mosques.

Economy, premium or luxury

The biggest difference between tiers is the Makkah hotel. A shuttle hotel such as voco Makkah costs less than a hotel inside the Clock Tower complex such as Swissôtel Makkah, but adds a shuttle ride and a walk to every prayer. Compare the tiers in economy vs premium vs luxury Umrah, or look at economy, premium and luxury packages.

Costs that are easy to miss

  • Visa: the tourist eVisa fee, which also allows Umrah, has been widely reported at SAR 535 (about $143) including mandatory medical insurance. The official Saudi eVisa portal shows the current fee at checkout.
  • Nusuk: Umrah and Rawdah appointments are booked in the official Nusuk app. Check there whether any charge applies to the services you book.
  • Meals not covered by your package, tips for drivers and guides, Zamzam and extra baggage, optional ziyarat, phone data, and travel to your U.S. airport.

Our Umrah budget guide for 2026–2027 turns these into a checklist.

Deposits and payment

Payment terms vary widely. Some quotes ask for a per-person deposit with the balance due several weeks before departure; others require full payment at booking. Refunds are often limited to what airlines and hotels return. Read Umrah deposits, cancellations and refunds before paying anyone.

Before you pay anything: the U.S. Department of State currently rates Saudi Arabia Level 3, “Reconsider travel.” Read the current travel advisory, enroll in STEP, and choose travel insurance that covers medical evacuation and trip disruption.

A quick budgeting checklist

  1. Pick your travel window and how flexible it is.
  2. Decide who shares each room.
  3. Decide how far you can walk five times a day, in Makkah especially.
  4. Decide whether you want flights included.
  5. Get two or three itemized, dated quotes and compare them line by line.
  6. Add the exclusions and a contingency of your choosing.

Frequently asked questions

Why do two Umrah packages for the same dates differ by $1,000 or more?

Usually because of hotel proximity, room sharing, flight routing and what is included. One package may include dinner, insurance and guided ziyarat while another includes breakfast only. Compare like with like: same nights, same occupancy and the same list of inclusions.

Is a “starting at” price the price I will pay?

Rarely. “Starting at” or “from” prices are normally the lowest per-person price, which usually means four people sharing a room on the cheapest dates. Ask for the price for your actual rooming, dates and departure city.

Does Safa Rihla publish package prices?

Only after a current supplier rate has been checked and approved. Until then a package shows “Get your personalized quote” instead of a number. The ranges in this guide summarize other packages advertised publicly in October 2026, shown so you can understand the market.

How much spending money should I bring?

It depends on which meals are included and how you like to travel. List the items your quote excludes, then estimate each one; our hidden-costs budgeting guide walks through them.

Do children cost less?

Often, depending on age and the airline’s and hotel’s rules. Infants usually pay a reduced airfare and may share a bed; older children are often priced like adults if they need their own bed. Ask for child prices in writing.

How much does an Umrah package from the USA cost?

There is no single price: the total depends on your dates, the hotels, how many share a room and whether flights are included, so we quote each trip from live rates. Ramadan and U.S. school holidays cost the most. Our guide to Umrah costs from the USA and the cost guide explain what drives the total, and a quote gives the real figure for your dates.

What changes the cost of an Umrah package?

Five things move the total most: your travel dates, the hotels’ distance from the mosques, how many people share each room, the flights (airline, route and how early you book) and the number of nights. Smaller items include private versus shared transfers, the train, meals and guided ziyarat. Our guide to what affects Umrah package prices shows how each one shifts the price.
