Overview
Sample itinerary. This is an illustrative example built around real hotels. It is not a confirmed package: there are no reserved rooms, flights, dates or prices. Request a personalized quote and we will check current availability and send an itemized price in USD. Makkah access from voco Makkah depends on the hotel shuttle via Kudai Parking; we confirm how it is running before you book.
Why this journey
This outline suits travelers who want a well-run international hotel at a lower cost than the Clock Tower area, and who are happy to use a shuttle. voco Makkah sits on Ibrahim Al Khalil Road in Al Misfalah, about 1.5 km from the Haram, and IHG describes a shuttle to Kudai Parking for onward access. In Madinah, Pullman Zamzam Madina is a short walk from the Prophet’s Mosque, which makes the second half of the journey easy on the feet.
Flights are not part of this outline. You can book your own, or ask us for an air + land quote.
Timing and preparation
Seven nights is a compact trip. We keep the first day in Makkah light so you perform Umrah rested, and the Madinah days calm.
- Read how to perform Umrah and Ihram explained before you travel.
- Use our packing checklist; comfortable walking shoes matter more than anything else.
- Check visa eligibility and current rules on the official Saudi platforms before you book flights.

Your price
Request your personalized price
This is a sample itinerary, not a fixed offer. Hotel rates in Makkah and Madinah change with the season, the room and how many share it, so we price each journey for your dates and your group, in USD, before anything is booked.
- Quote pricing is not a guaranteed offer. Flights and hotels are reserved only after you approve a written quote and pay the deposit.
What a quote can include
Everything below is arranged on request and itemized in your written quote. Nothing is included until you approve it.

- Help with the Umrah visa application where you are eligible
- Return flights from your chosen U.S. airport, if you ask for an air + land quote
- Optional guided ziyarat (visits) in Makkah and Madinah

Not included
- Flights, unless you request an air + land quote
- Meals beyond what the hotel rate in your quote includes
- Travel and medical insurance (strongly recommended)
- Rawdah visits: permits are booked by each pilgrim through the Nusuk app and are never guaranteed
- Wheelchair, mobility or porter services, unless arranged in writing
- Personal expenses, laundry and tips
- Visa or government fees, unless your written quote lists them
Rooms and who shares
Hotel rooms in Makkah and Madinah are usually quoted per person by occupancy: quad (four sharing), triple, double or single. Sharing lowers the per-person cost; a double or single gives more privacy. Many hotels add a bed rather than a second room for a fourth guest, so ask how beds are arranged. For children, tell us their ages: child rates, extra beds and cots depend on each hotel’s rules and are confirmed in your quote. If anyone uses a wheelchair or walks slowly, tell us early so we can ask about accessible rooms, elevators and the route to the mosque.

Flights & travel arrangements
- Accessibility
- Reaching the Haram from voco Makkah involves a shuttle and then a walk from the drop-off. If walking is difficult, consider a hotel in the Abraj Al Bait or Jabal Omar areas instead, or ask us about wheelchair arrangements.
Day-by-day itinerary
- 1
Day 1 · Makkah
Arrive in Jeddah, transfer to Makkah
Land at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. If you are coming straight to Makkah, you will already be in Ihram from the flight. Transfer to your hotel, rest, eat and drink water, then perform Umrah when you feel ready, at your own pace.

Day 2 · Makkah
Rest and prayer
A deliberately light day after the long journey from the United States. Pray in the Haram, sleep when you need to, and keep hydrated. Jet lag is real: most travelers are 7 to 11 hours ahead of home. Learn the shuttle times at the front desk so you can plan prayers around them.
- 3
Day 3 · Makkah
Optional ziyarat
Optional guided visit to places connected with the life of the Prophet ﷺ, such as Jabal al-Nour (the Cave of Hira) from below, Jabal Thawr, Mina, Muzdalifah and Arafat. A morning outing, back before the heat.
- 4
Day 4 · Makkah
Worship in the Haram
Prayers in the Haram, extra Tawaf if you wish, and Quran. Choose quieter times (late night, mid-morning) if crowds are hard for you.
- 5
Day 5 · Madinah
Travel to Madinah
Check out after the morning prayer and travel to Madinah by private car or the Haramain high-speed train (about two and a half to three hours by train, longer by road). Check in and visit Masjid an-Nabawi for the evening prayers.
- 6
Day 6 · Madinah
Masjid an-Nabawi
Pray in Masjid an-Nabawi and offer greetings of peace at the Prophet’s ﷺ grave. If you hold a Rawdah permit from the Nusuk app, follow its time slot; permits are never guaranteed.
- 7
Day 7 · Madinah
Optional Madinah visits
Optional morning visits: Quba Mosque (praying there is a recommended act), the Uhud martyrs’ cemetery and the Qiblatayn Mosque. Return for the midday prayer.
- 8
Day 8 · In transit
Fly home from Madinah
Final prayers at Masjid an-Nabawi, then transfer to Madinah airport, or by train to Jeddah, for your flight home.
