Overview

Sample itinerary. This is an illustrative example built around real hotels. It is not a confirmed package: there are no reserved rooms, flights, dates or prices. Request a personalized quote and we will check current availability and send an itemized price in USD.

Why this journey

Starting in Madinah means you do not need to manage Ihram on a long flight from the United States. You recover from jet lag in a calmer city, then enter Ihram at the Dhul Hulayfah (Abyar Ali) miqat on the way to Makkah and perform Umrah rested. Six nights in Makkah leave time for worship after your Umrah.

Timing and preparation

Flights into Madinah are fewer than into Jeddah, so a Madinah-first plan sometimes means a connection or an onward train. We compare both in your quote.

Details last updated October 20, 2026.

Your price

Request your personalized price

This is a sample itinerary, not a fixed offer. Hotel rates in Makkah and Madinah change with the season, the room and how many share it, so we price each journey for your dates and your group, in USD, before anything is booked.

  • Quote pricing is not a guaranteed offer. Flights and hotels are reserved only after you approve a written quote and pay the deposit.

What a quote can include

Everything below is arranged on request and itemized in your written quote. Nothing is included until you approve it.

Can be included

  • Hotel nights at the hotels shown, or alternatives you approve in writing
  • Airport and intercity transfers by private car, or Haramain high-speed train tickets if you prefer
  • Help with the Umrah visa application where you are eligible
  • Return flights from your chosen U.S. airport, if you ask for an air + land quote
  • Optional guided ziyarat (visits) in Makkah and Madinah
  • Breakfast, where the hotel rate in your quote includes it

Not included

  • Flights, unless you request an air + land quote
  • Meals beyond what the hotel rate in your quote includes
  • Travel and medical insurance (strongly recommended)
  • Rawdah visits: permits are booked by each pilgrim through the Nusuk app and are never guaranteed
  • Wheelchair, mobility or porter services, unless arranged in writing
  • Personal expenses, laundry and tips
  • Visa or government fees, unless your written quote lists them

Rooms and who shares

Hotel rooms in Makkah and Madinah are usually quoted per person by occupancy: quad (four sharing), triple, double or single. Sharing lowers the per-person cost; a double or single gives more privacy. Many hotels add a bed rather than a second room for a fourth guest, so ask how beds are arranged. For children, tell us their ages: child rates, extra beds and cots depend on each hotel’s rules and are confirmed in your quote. If anyone uses a wheelchair or walks slowly, tell us early so we can ask about accessible rooms, elevators and the route to the mosque.

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. 1

    Day 1 · In transit

    Depart the United States

Overnight flight to Madinah (or Jeddah with an onward train). No Ihram needed on this flight.

  2. 2

    Day 2 · Madinah

    Arrive in Madinah

Arrive at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah, or in Jeddah with an onward train or transfer. Check in and rest. You do not enter Ihram yet: that happens later, at the Madinah miqat, on the way to Makkah.

  3. 3

    Day 3 · Madinah

    Masjid an-Nabawi

Pray in Masjid an-Nabawi and offer greetings of peace at the Prophet’s ﷺ grave. If you hold a Rawdah permit from the Nusuk app, follow its time slot; permits are never guaranteed.

  4. 4

    Day 4 · Madinah

    Optional Madinah visits

Optional morning visits: Quba Mosque (praying there is a recommended act), the Uhud martyrs’ cemetery and the Qiblatayn Mosque. Return for the midday prayer.

  5. 5

    Day 5 · Madinah

    A calm day in Madinah

A slower day of prayer and reflection. Madinah’s pace is gentler than Makkah’s, and many pilgrims find these days the most restful.

  6. 6

    Day 6 · Makkah

Ihram at Dhul Hulayfah, travel to Makkah

Prepare for Ihram at the hotel, make the intention at the Dhul Hulayfah (Abyar Ali) miqat, and travel to Makkah by car or train. After checking in and resting, perform Umrah.

  7. 7

    Day 7 · Makkah

    Rest after Umrah

Sleep and pray. The day after Umrah is a good time to slow down.

  8. 8

    Day 8 · Makkah

    Optional ziyarat

Optional guided visit to places connected with the life of the Prophet ﷺ, such as Jabal al-Nour (the Cave of Hira) from below, Jabal Thawr, Mina, Muzdalifah and Arafat. A morning outing, back before the heat.

  9. 9

    Day 9 · Makkah

    Worship in the Haram

Prayers in the Haram, extra Tawaf if you wish, and Quran. Choose quieter times (late night, mid-morning) if crowds are hard for you.

  10. 10

    Day 10 · Makkah

    Worship in the Haram

Another full day for prayer, Quran and Tawaf at quieter hours.

  11. 11

    Day 11 · Makkah

    Final day in Makkah

Pack, rest and make dua. Many pilgrims perform a farewell Tawaf before leaving.

  12. 12

    Day 12 · In transit

    Farewell and fly home

Many pilgrims perform a farewell Tawaf before leaving Makkah. Transfer to Jeddah airport for your flight home. Timings depend on the flight in your quote.

Questions about this journey

Is this a package I can book today?

No. This is a sample itinerary that shows how a journey with these real hotels could be structured. We have no confirmed rooms, flights or dates for it. Request a quote and we will check current availability and send an itemized price in writing.

Why is there no price?

Hotel rates in Makkah and Madinah change by season, occupancy and availability. We only show prices once a supplier has quoted them and our team has verified and approved them. Your personalized quote lists every cost in USD.

Can I change the hotels or the number of nights?

Yes. Treat this as a starting point. Tell us your dates, who is traveling and what matters most (walking distance, budget, family rooms) and we will suggest options.

Can I fly from my city?

You can ask for an air + land quote from any U.S. airport, including New York (JFK), Chicago (ORD), Houston (IAH), Washington Dulles (IAD) and Los Angeles (LAX). Routes and airlines are confirmed only in your written quote.

Where do I enter Ihram on a Madinah-first trip?

At the Madinah miqat, Dhul Hulayfah (also called Abyar Ali), on the way to Makkah. Cars and the train both allow time to prepare at the hotel beforehand.
